Feeling overwhelmed about “the talk”? You’re not alone AND luckily, you don’t have to have all the answers! Join local Physical Therapists Dr. Monica Vandervoort (she) and Dr. Isha Kelkar (she) and Relational Analysis Nick/Nicole T. Castro, MA (they/she) to build skills, confidence, and language for supporting kids through body changes, sexuality, and tricky conversations.
In this interactive, gender-inclusive session, we’ll:
- Break down basic anatomy & puberty changes (bodies, bladder, bowel, and sexual function)
- Debunk common myths about body development and sexual health (think pain with menstruation, leaking urine with dance, and constipation)
- Normalize inclusive, yet medically accurate language for all genders and bodies
- Offer real communication tools for talking about “awkward” topics with confidence and care
- Discuss how to support your child with curiosity, compassion, and boundaries
- Explore how digital media impacts young people’s understanding of sex and relationships
This workshop is for you if:
- You want to build trust, not fear, around bodies and sexuality
- You believe kids deserve accurate, affirming information
- You’re ready to build ongoing, shame-free dialogue with your child(ren)
Let’s make the awkward, awesome. Together.
If you attend & appreciate our approach, we’re offering a complementing workshop for youth aged 5th-12th grade (high school seniors) on Sun 10/12 - 1-330
