Join us for a two-part experience exploring the newest solo exhibition by internationally acclaimed artist Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle, A Want for Nothing, on view at DePaul Art Museum. This special program begins with a virtual session on Tuesday, October 1 from 1–2 PM, featuring a conversation with curator Ionit Behar, PhD, followed by an in-person guided tour on Wednesday, October 2 at 1 PM at the museum (935 W. Fullerton, Chicago).

About the Exhibition

In A Want for Nothing, Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle (b. 1961) presents a new body of work that invites us to meditate on the role of art in society. His practice challenges traditional ideas of function and beauty by crafting objects that appear utilitarian but reveal unexpected meaning—or functionality—often tied to larger sociopolitical or environmental issues. With a deep commitment to the sensory and intellectual experience of the viewer, Manglano-Ovalle asks us to slow down and confront ambiguity, encouraging a contemplative encounter that blurs the boundary between personal and shared experience. This site-specific installation draws us into the present moment and poses a resonant question: How do we respond to the work, right here, right now?
