Let’s Make Kimchi! – A Hands-On Fermentation Experience

Whether you’re new to fermentation or already a fan, this session will guide you through the entire kimchi-making process — from preparing the vegetables and mixing the paste to packing your own jars to take home.

Each participant will make two jars of kimchi and enjoy a tasting alongside kimbap (Korean rice rolls), a kimchi snack, and refreshments. All vegetables used are organic, and the workshop is designed to be fun, practical, and delicious.

We’ll also explore the cultural roots of kimchi, Korea’s beloved fermented dish, cover the basics of fermentation, and share tips for customizing your batch to suit your taste.

What to bring:

  • Two clean jars (about 500ml each) with tight-fitting lids
  • An apron or clothes you don’t mind getting messy
  • Your curiosity and appetite!

What you'll get:

  • All ingredients including organic fresh veggies and tools (except jars)
  • A kimchi tasting, with kimbap (Korean rice rolls) and kimchi snack.
  • Tea, coffee and refreshments
  • A print-out with instructions for making kimchi
  • Your own handmade kimchi to take home
  • Knowlege and confidence to make kimchi yourself at home

The workshop will be held in a welcoming, fully equipped home kitchen, set up with everything we need to make kimchi together.
