What has Scotland learned from the UK COVID-19 Inquiry’s Module One findings on pandemic preparedness for disabled people?

Join us for an important conversation exploring how Scotland can build a more inclusive approach to emergency planning - one that truly reflects the needs, rights, and voices of disabled people.

What to Expect:
This webinar will bring together disabled people with lived experience, pandemic researchers, public officials, and key stakeholders with an interest in inclusive emergency planning. Together, we will reflect on evidence submitted to the UK and Scottish COVID-19 Inquiries and interrogate what has (or hasn’t) changed since the publication of the UK Inquiry’s Module One: Resilience and Preparedness.

Hosted by Inclusion Scotland, the session will explore how public bodies can better embed inclusive emergency planning into future pandemic responses, placing disabled people at the heart of decision-making.

Drawing on key findings from Rights at Risk (Inclusion Scotland) and Supercharged: A Human Catastrophe (Glasgow Disability Alliance), we’ll examine the lessons still to be learned, and what must happen next to ensure that the injustices of the last pandemic are never repeated.

This webinar will be hosted on Zoom and will include British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation by Jenny Laird and Sabine Zielinska. Live captions will also be provided. There will be breaks during the session.
