About this event

Beneath our feet is a world that is always communicating. Mushrooms, or fungi, create neural networks beneath the dirt that connect all living things in their ecosystems.

Sometimes mushrooms are beautiful: they send messages between trees and keep nutrients flowing. Sometimes they are spooky: they take over insects and make zombies of them. Sometimes, they are our natural Grim Reapers, taking ended life and turning it back into soil for something new to grow.

It is too easy for us as humans to become isolated and disconnected but now is a time to take lessons from our fungi friends and think about how we are connected.

Join HaGomel facilitator, Anastasia Knight, for a creative workshop where, through multi-media collage, we build our own forest systems and consider how our lives operate the same way. Become inspired by your own skills and interpersonal networks, and leave feeling a bit more connected to yourself and others.

HaGomel is dedicated to healing women through creative community. We provide expressive arts programs to survivors of trauma, especially sexual trauma, by interweaving a variety of modalities, for online and in-person experiences throughout greater Los Angeles. Our programs offer a safe space to transform pain and shame into possibility and joy.
