About this event

  • Paid venue parking

Lego® for Learning is for groups of three children, where we use Lego® as a learning tool.

It is a fun group to develop speech and language skills, social emotional skills and social communication skills. Depending on the needs of the group, literacy and numeracy skills can also be taught.

We combine the principals and ideas from Lego® Six Bricks and Lego® Therapy, along with my experience as a qualified teacher, in a neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-informed way, to ensure a frustration-free environment.

Children will have the opportunity to use their creativity, develop their communication skills, identify their emotions and express themselves in healthy ways, while enjoying the Lego®.

The Lego® for Learning group will run three times this Summer, over three weeks.

There are three date options available.

July 28th

August 4th

August 11th.

Each booking is for a 5 day course, 1 hour per day, at 2.30 - 3.30pm.

Frequently asked questions

Do I drop my child off, or should I stay for the session?

You are very welcome to stay for the session. The teacher Jane runs the workshops in her garden (weather permitting) and you can either stay at the session, wait inside the house, or drop your child and return after the session. We aim to make it as easy as possible for people to comfortably attend.

How many will be in the workshop?

We keep all workshops small - there won't be any more than 3 children there.

Organized by

I am Jane, a local woman with more than 20 years experience as a qualified teacher (QTS) working with children and young people in South London. I have a passion for education, equality and environment. By environment I mean how our learning environments affect how we are able to thrive in our lives.

I currently teach students from KS1-KS4. I can support transition to secondary school with summer sessions and weekly lessons after school to support study skills.

I specialise in teaching students with additional needs, and I base my approach on child centred practices. I offer well being and emotional regulation sessions for any students who would benefit from this.

I have personal and professional experience of teaching and learning, health issues and equality issues. These are at the forefront of my practice. I work under the name Gentle Learning Support.
