📚 Lecture: “The Search for Quantum Gravity in Antarctica”
🎤 Speaker: Particle Physicist, Dr. Grant Kendrick Parker
For the past 50 years, physics has been in crisis. Since the early 20th century, both quantum mechanics and gravity have evolved, leading to groundbreaking scientific understanding and technological advancements. However, when physicists attempted to unify these two theories, progress stalled. These two precise theories seem to contradict each other and resist merging into an ultimate "Theory of Everything."
But hope is on the horizon! Radical new ideas and experiments are being tested, gradually helping us construct a new understanding of the fundamental nature of reality. In this lecture, Dr. Parker will review what quantum mechanics and gravity describe, explore why they fail to unite, and highlight the critical importance of answering these questions. He will also discuss his research on models of combined "quantum gravity."
Dr. Grant Kendrick Parker is a particle physicist at the Lawrence Livermore National Lab, focusing on groundbreaking experiments addressing fundamental questions in physics. His dissertation work has been published in esteemed journals, and he holds a PhD from the University of Texas.
Don’t miss this chance to delve into the mysteries of the universe!
