🎤 Speaker: Dr. Julian R. Silverman

Join us for a captivating evening with Dr. Julian R. Silverman as he delves into the mystical world of alchemy. Long before the rise of modern chemistry, alchemists sought to uncover the secrets of transformation, from turning base metals into gold to searching for the elixir of life.

In this enlightening lecture, Dr. Silverman will explore the historical roots and scientific legacy of alchemy, examining ancient texts, mysterious symbols, and the field's lasting influence on experimental science. Attendees will enjoy a hands-on introduction to the fascinating intersection where art, hermeticism, and early chemistry converge.

Dr. Julian R. Silverman is a full-time Assistant Professor at The Fashion Institute of Technology and a passionate alchemist in his spare time. He has served as a Haas Fellow at the Science History Institute and collaborates with the American Chemical Society’s Green Chemistry Institute. When not dyeing fabric in his bathtub, he can be found giving public science demonstrations throughout New York City.
