Columbia alumni are invited to the Michael C. Carlos Museum of Emory University!
Join Edith Porada Professor of Art History and Archaeology at Columbia University, Zainab Bahrani, for her lecture titled “The Mesopotamian Sublime: Time, Matter, and Image in Mesopotamian Antiquity." Dr. Bahrani considers the idea of ‘art-time’ by exploring the aesthetics of the sublime in Mesopotamian antiquity.
2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Enjoy wine and light food at this reception exclusively for Columbia alumni. Attendees receive free access to the recently renovated Ancient Near Eastern galleries. Reception Level 2, galleries Level 3.
4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Dr. Bahrani's lecture is free and open to the public, Level 3.
