About this event

  • Event lasts 21 days 2 hours

At the heart of the Work That Reconnects is a spiral, itself an invitation into deeper connection.

In this four-part offering, we invite you to join us in an exploration of this spiral, coming back into relationship - with ourselves, with each other, and with the web of life.

We will dedicate one session to each of the four pillars of the spiral, spending a generous two hours together each week to feel, share, imagine and connect. There will be optional reflective practices to experiment with between each week as well. Throughout, we will weave the history of the work into the sessions, honouring the root teacher, Joanna Macy, and those that have developed the work over the last 40 years.

Session 1 - Coming from Gratitude

  • 17:30-19:30 BST - Wednesday 18th June
  • Begin by grounding ourselves in appreciation, recognising the gifts and strengths we possess.

Session 2 - Honouring Our Pain for the World

  • 17:30-19:30 BST - Wednesday 25th June
  • Create a compassionate space to acknowledge and share the sorrow and anger we feel for the world’s suffering.

Session 3 - Seeing with New/Ancient Eyes

  • 17:30-19:30 BST - Wednesday 2nd July
  • Explore fresh perspectives and ancient wisdom that reveal our deep interdependence with all.

Session 4 - Going Forth

  • 17:30-19:30 BST - Wednesday 9th July
  • Develop actionable insights and commitments to contribute positively to the healing of our world.

In these four experiential sessions we will co-create a shared space to meet each other in our full humanness, and journey together through the work. We will use a mix of small group discussion, creative activities and reflective practices to:

  • Welcome the complex emotions that are alive for you, staying curious as to what these emotions are telling you about who you are and the role you have to play
  • Support you to feel less alone with the anxieties and stresses of present-day life, taking time to recognise the radical interconnectedness of all life on Earth
  • Resource you to emerge with greater capacity, clarity and courage to take your next steps, whatever they are

We welcome you into this collective exploration - to reconnect with our deepest selves, each other, and the Earth, fostering resilience and clarity for the path ahead.

YOUR INVESTMENT IN THIS JOURNEY

In a world of constant distraction, offering your wholehearted presence is a radical act. We will be gathering for two hours every week at the same time, so please check that you will be able to show up for the group at these times.

We encourage you to come as you are to the sessions. We understand that life happens and appreciate whatever you are able to bring each week.

To run this workshop we offer a tiered donation guide, so you can decide what is appropriate for your personal situation, acknowledging that we want to keep this work running. We are committed to making the Work accessible to all, so if the below tiers are still prohibitive, please get in touch.

  • Sustainable: £150 - £175 - the regular price to sustain this course

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to have attended one of your previous Learning to Reconnect workshops to join this?

This builds on the monthly online workshops we've been running, but by no means is it a requirement to have done one of these. Equally, if you have already joined us for one of our monthly introductory workshops, this new offering will give you the chance to go even deeper into this work.

What do I need for the sessions?

Yourself! You may want to set yourself up in a comfortable space where you won’t be distracted during the sessions. For those that are inclined, you may want some tissues nearby. We will give space for breaks part way through each week.

Where can I find more information about the Work That Reconnects?

A great starting place is the Work That Reconnects Network (https://workthatreconnects.org/), an online home for resources, events and other's who are committed to sharing the Work That Reconnects.

Can I have a refund if I can't make it or need to cancel?

Every situation is different and we would seek to respond accordingly. If your commitments change and you let us know at least two-weeks before the start date (by the 4th June), we can organise a refund. After this date we wouldn't offer a full refund.
