Beginners Sewing with Anka Kovacich
7 week course beginning Saturday 2nd August, 1:30pm til 4pm at the Woorree Community Hall, Rowan Road, Woorree. Geraldton.
Over the term you will cover many tips + tricks of the trade to get you confidently started (or perfecting) your woven fabrics sewing journey.
Total tuition fee: $300.00 plus booking fees.

Week 1 Get to know your way around the sewing machine + basic stitches. We will complete a hair scrunchie during this class for you to take home. All materials supplied.
W eek 2 Sew a Velcro pouch, French seams, directional sewing. All materials supplied.
W eek 3 + 4 Sew an Apron, incorporation, a tie, gathering + hemming, + various seams. All materials supplied.
W eek 5, 6 + 7 Pull on pants with elastic waste + pocket. Student to supply pattern + fabric to provided specifications, or to reimburse Anka with the purchase price.
Class investment includes 7 x 2.5 hour classes of sewing tuition with most project materials + light refreshments.
You will need to bring your sewing machine with foot controller + instruction manual, a large spool of Gutterman 100% polyester thread or of similar high quality (neutral colour such as white, black, grey etc.) spare bobbins to fit your machine, scissors, quick unpick tool, notebook + pen, water bottle. Additionally, a specific pattern + fabric will also to be purchased around week 3 , in preparation to cut + sew pants with pocket. Anka will advise + guide students through this process.
Sewing machines available for hire if required.
Minimum of 6 students required to commence. Max. 8 per enrolment term.
