Learn to Sew – CUSTOMIZED TOTE BAG (Beginner Sewing)

Learn to customize a simple Tote Bag to meet your needs. This is a Beginner Class. No Zippers. No Binding. No Quilting. No Buttonholes. Lots of options for size, strap, closure, and pockets.

Items needed:

• Sewing Machine that does both a straight stitch. Don’t have a machine? Don’t worry! When signing up for the class, please select “I Need to Borrow a Machine” and we will have one set up for you.
• Top stitch and general-purpose foot
• ½ yard woven fabric (not knit) such as cotton, canvas, denim for outer body
• ½ yard light woven fabric for lining
• 1-2 Fat Quarters Coordinating cotton fabric for pockets
• Optional: Big button, decorative ribbon, magnetic closure, applique’,
• Coordinating color sewing thread with 2 bobbins filled
• Iron and ironing surface
• Sharp rotary cutter, straight cutting edge, cutting mat
• Sewing tools (scissors, clips or pins, stiletto or purple thang, seam ripper)
