Every year in June, National Learn to Row Day occurs at rowing and health clubs throughout the United States. Join Humboldt Bay Rowing Association for our Learn to Row Day on Saturday, June 7, 2025. Two-hour sessions will be held throughout the morning. Sign up for one of the listed times to get in a boat. Six seats per boat are available. You must be at least 12 years old to participate. Please note that the number of available seats is quite limited. If you have previously attended a Learn to Row session, please consider not signing up again to let someone else in the community have the experience.
You'll briefly learn about the sport of rowing, boat safety, and proper rowing technique, and then you'll be in a boat and on the water!
Please wear fitted athletic attire (e.g., yoga pants, bike shorts, etc.) or close-fitting clothing in which you can move comfortably and wear layers because of our unpredictable weather. Water socks, tennis shoes, or some similar footwear are recommended, and wear or bring socks. We also recommend that you bring water, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
The "big" boathouse, where the event will be held, is located between the Samoa Bridge boat ramp and the Adorni Center on Waterfront Drive in Eureka (see map). Look for the mural of rowers on the side facing Waterfront Drive.
