About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

In partnership with the New York Power Authority funding of the On the Canals program, the Village of Brockport and Brockport Community Rowing are offering a chance to find out more about the sport of rowing. Sign up for an hour and within that hour learn more about the boats and equipment, the commands, the motions of rowing and go out on the canal to see what it is like with experienced rowers in the 8+ boat.

Sign up to participate or just come to watch. The new Bicentennial Bridge is a great place to view what is happening.

Sign ups are on a first-come, first-served basis. Walk ins are welcome as long as you understand it may take longer to get you into a boat or we may run out of time. The only requirements are that you can swim, are age 18 or over, and you have your own health insurance.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your time begins to fill out paperwork.

Wear comfortable clothing that is not baggy (you don’t want it to catch in the seat), socks (shoes are stationary in the boat and you must wear socks), bring a water bottle and prepare to have fun.

An ASL Interpreter can be requested with four days' advance notice by emailing otcbrockport@gmail.com.

If you have any questions, please email otcbrockport@gmail.com.
