About this event

  • Event lasts 21 days 2 hours

This free, four-week-long Learn-To-Ride course for students ages 8 to 17 years old is focused on learning to get up on two wheels. St. Louis BWorks provides all needed materials (e.g. loaner bikes, plus helmets to keep) to help students achieve this goal. Learn-To-Ride students who successfully complete this program can go on, if they wish, to enroll in a BWorks Earn-A-Bike class (that’s a separate six-week course which focuses on more bike skills and ends with a graduation ride around the community — plus taking home a nicely refurbished bicycle to keep).

Students who commit to this series will meet for four Tuesday evenings, with a two-hour class beginning each week at 6 p.m. (and ending at 8 p.m.). The first class meeting is Tuesday, August 5, and the final class will be Tuesday, August 26. Students must consistently attend the classes.

Classes take place at St. Louis BWorks, located in Soulard at 2414 Menard Street, St. Louis, MO 63104.

Requirements for this course:

1) A parent/guardian must attend the first 15 minutes of the first of the four classes. We also limit each family to one registrant per Learn-To-Ride session, and the student must be between the ages of 8 and17.

2) Keep in mind that there may be a little bit of fun homework involved in between each of the classes. Our whole Learn-To-Ride curriculum is designed with the chief goal of getting your student comfortable and confident riding on two wheels, and we need parent/guardian help to ensure each registrant reaches that goal — one sure to lead to lifelong joy and further learning.
