Join Suzanne, a trained Project Knitwell volunteer, for a gentle, encouraging journey into the world of knitting designed specifically for absolute beginners. Over eight supportive sessions, you'll not only learn essential knitting skills but also experience the profound wellness benefits that come with this mindful, creative practice.

Please note: There are a limited amount of tickets allowed per class. Please ensure that you attend the classes you sign up for or cancel your ticket to allow someone else to take the class.

You’ll learn essential knitting skills such as:

● Casting on - starting your knitting project

● The knit stitch - your foundation technique

● The purl stitch - adding texture and versatility

● Casting off - finishing your work beautifully

● Reading your knitting and fixing simple mistakes

● Basic pattern following

As well as personal wellness benefits like:

What You'll Need

To participate, please purchase these simple supplies before our first class:

  • Yarn: One skein of medium/worsted weight yarn.
  • Recommended options: Lion Brand: Vanna's Choice; Michaels Soft Classic Solid Yarn by Loops & Threads in any light, solid color you love (solid colors are easier for beginners to work with).

Needles: One pair of size 8 (5mm) straight knitting needles, preferably bamboo.

Total supply cost is typically under $15 and can be found at any craft store or online.
