Learn to Knit Socks- From the Toe Up!
Overview
Scared to jump into sock knitting? Tried working from the cuff down only to end up running out of yarn or with an ill-fitting ankle? No matter your experience, Toe Up Sock Knitting is a fun way to work up this cozy part of your wardrobe.
In this three-week course, you will learn to knit a sock from the toe end up!
You will learn:
- Judys Magic Cast On
- Increases
- Decreases
- Short Row Heel
- Magic Loop
This class will be held over 3 SUNDAYS AT 10 AM (Janurary 11th, 18th, and the 25th)
In the first class we will go over casting on and the toe, in the second class we will go over heel construction, and in the third class we will go over knitting the leg & starting the second sock. This sock will use the magic loop construction.

Skill Prerequisites: Must know how to cast on, knit, and purl.
Required Materials (Not Included)
- One Skein of Fingering Weight Sock Yarn - Recommended sock yarns are Cascade Heritage Sock, Malabrigo Ultimate Socka, Alegria.
- A US 1.5 on a 32" or 40" long circular needle.
- Notions: Measuring tape, tapestry needle, stitch markers.
Some great local yarn stores to purchase materials from are Knit 1, Nina Chicago, and Wool and Co.
