Where is the Learn to Curl held?

This event will be held at the Smithfield Municipal Ice Rink at 109 Pleasant View Ave., Smithfield, RI.

Do I need to bring any equipment?

Nope! We'll supply all the equipment you'll need.

Question 3

What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

Wear warm, loose-fitting clothing (e.g., stretchy pants, jacket/sweater/layers, hat, gloves, thick socks -- it can get cold in the rink!) and clean sneakers (we try to keep dirt off the ice). We also suggest wearing dark color clothing and shoes to avoid getting scuffed/marked on while on the ice.

What happens at a Learn to Curl?

We start with off-ice safety instructions and history of curling, follow by on-ice practice led by our instructors where you will learn the basics of curling (delivery, sweeping, scoring). At the end, depending on time, you will get to play 1-3 full ends so you can see how it feels to play a game!

My friends/family/partner and I all registered. Can we be grouped together?

Depending on the number of people in your group, we will do our best to keep people in your group together!  If group members are registering separately, please indicate the name(s) of the other people in your group.

What if my group is more than 8 people?

Accepted Answer

If there will be more than 8 people in your group, we require everyone's names at the time of sign up. Again, we will do our best to keep everyone in your group together or close to each other.

Can my child participate in the Learn to Curl?

We only permit individuals over the age of 16 to participate in our Learn to Curls. All minors will be required to fill out the online waiver form for minors and must have a parent/guardian/chaperone (over 18 years old) accompanying them.

Question 8

What if I'm running late?

Accepted Answer

If you are more than 15mins late, your ticket will be forfeited as you will have missed crucial instructions at the start that is necessary for your safety on the ice. If you know you will be running late, please let us know via email. However, it does not guarantee your spot if you are too late.
