Whether you're brand new to the game or just brushing off the tiles, this session is the perfect way to build your skills, meet fellow players, and have some fun. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity.

Do I need a 2025 NMJL card?

You don’t need a Mahjong card for this lesson. If you’d like to learn more before buying one, that’s perfectly fine. When you're ready to play socially, you’ll need a card. You can order one from the National Mah Jongg League at https://nationalmahjonggleague.org

What supplies do I need?

Tiles, racks, dice, mats, and learning materials will be provided for the lesson. If you would like to take notes, please bring a pen and paper.

What style of Mahjong will be included in the lesson?

This lesson will teach American Mahjong using National Mahjong League rules.

What should I expect?

Please arrive on time and stay for the full session—there’s lots to learn and enjoy! We’ll use name tags to help everyone connect. The buddy system will be part of the lesson, so get ready to team up and learn together—it’s a fun and effective way to build your skills!

What is the library policy on food?

You're welcome to bring a closed water bottle with water into the library. We kindly ask that you enjoy any snacks or lunch before or after the lesson so we can keep the space clean and focused on fun!
