Overview

2025 DHS I-9 updates spur confusion and ICE audits. Learn changes, raid risks, and how to run internal audits from a former DHS auditor.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has once again made changes to the

I-9 Form launched in 2025. There have been several updates to the I-9 Form with

limited changes during the current immigration changes. These changes have

confused employers and professionals and have stepped up the Immigration

Customs Enforcement (ICE) efforts to audit companies via the I-9 Form audit

process.

The I-9 Form audit process is what some call the silent raid and has been hailed as a

segway to ICE audits and immigration raids. Given the immigration promises of the

current administration, immigration raids have been scheduled; however, the number

of raids has not provided the numbers necessary to meet the deportations promised.

This has angered the administration and has increased their efforts by scheduling

more raids and providing the shock and awe for immigrants and non-immigrants.

Employers and their representatives need to be aware of all I-9 form changes, but

they also must conduct internal audits to mitigate the increase in ICE audits.

This training will go over any changes and compliance initiatives to make the I-9 form

compliance less confusing. As a former external auditor hired by DHS to review over

7,000 I-9 forms and make corrections, it is critical to review your I-9 forms now as the

new I-9 forms have been launched. Employers and their representatives need to be

clear about what I-9 Form compliance efforts are.

Why Should You Attend?

How Do Employers Get Audited? Targeted Industries

ICE has historically established a list of targeted industries where it is more likely to

hire immigrants. These industries include agriculture, construction, landscaping, food

processing, and retail, which are predominantly unskilled labor.

It isn’t hard to imagine news getting out to target employers; however, research has

proven that most other complaints come from disgruntled employees.

This I-9 form preparation, correction, and audit webinar will be a step-by-step

process and discussion of all the new guidelines for completing the new I-9 form, as

well as the ongoing regulations for appropriate methods of correcting this document

without incurring fines and penalties.

Attend this webinar to understand how to fill the I-9 form, how to correct it, and how

to audit it. Learn what the best practices are to follow to save your company from

unnecessary violations.
