Abstract

In this hands-on course, learn to code in the Go programming language. Learning will be done by writing some REST APIs. This class is for people who would like to get started with Go.

Prerequisites

  • Some programming experience and a working knowledge of the command line.

  • A laptop with Go (1.9) installed. After installation please run the following command in the terminal/cmd prompt: go version. You should see output similar to: go version go1.9 linux/amd64

  • git and curl installed

  • A good IDE is recommended as well, some free ones are Gogland, Visual Studio Code with go extension and Vim with vim-go plugin

  • A charger and a working wifi connection.
