LEAP Module 1:Professionalism and Ethics
Overview
LEAP Module 1: Professionalism and Ethics (For City of Detroit employees only)
Professionalism in the workplace is being engaged, driven, customer service-focused, disciplined, honest, and ethical in all that you do. This four-hour workshop highlights key differences between professional and unprofessional behavior. It adheres to workplace etiquette by dressing professionally for the business environment. With respect to behavior, professionalism demonstrates commitment to ethics and values as well as to the six pillars of character – ethical standards, that help guide our choices which act as a multi-level filter through which we process decisions.
The Employee LEAP program is a series of workshops giving participants the necessary skills and knowledge to make them more productive, efficient, and valuable in the organization. The LEAP acronym stands for:
• L – Learn
• E – Engage
• A – Apply
• P – Perform
Once participants learn the material, participants engage with it using interactive workshop activities. Then, they apply the material in their work environment and perform to the best of their abilities having acquired new talents and skills.
