Certification Opportunity
Participants who implement the concepts qualify for a Lean Yellow Belt Certification through the University of Tennessee, Knoxville upon completion of concepts.

This workshop is designed for professionals who want to bring Lean business process improvements to their department or technical environment.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Recognize wasteful processes
  • Apply simple, low or no-cost countermeasures
  • Build an action plan that can be implemented immediately
  • Achieve measurable productivity improvements

We are honored to welcome Professor William Peterson, a recognized expert in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement. With more than 30 years of hands-on experience, Bill has taught and certified professionals across industries since 2006 and currently serves on the faculty at UT’s Haslam College of Business.

William (Bill) Peterson Lean Best Practices University of Tennesse Professor & Consultant:

Bill Peterson brings over 30 years of hands-on experience in Lean, Six Sigma, BPR, Theory of Constraints, and other continuous improvement tools to improve efficiency, job satisfaction, and organizational performance.


During his 26-year career with Delta’s Technical Operations Division, Bill saw firsthand how business processes across departments impacted frontline productivity. This shaped his life’s work: helping organizations remove constraints and achieve measurable improvements.


Since 2006, Bill has taught his proven Lean methodology to professionals across industries. He serves as faculty in the University of Tennessee’s Haslam College of Business and lectures in its Aerospace & Defense and Professional MBA programs. He also certifies Lean Yellow and Green Belts through UT.


Bill holds an MBA from the University of Tennessee, a BS in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle, Six Sigma Black Belt certification, and FAA Airframe & Power Plant Licenses. Learn more at LeanBP.com.
