Overview

Influence is often confused with authority, but true leadership happens when others want to follow your lead, not when they have to.

Dale Carnegie’s Principles 10–21 focus on the art of influencing others for better results. While the first nine principles help us connect on a human level, these next principles guide us in how to move people to action through respect, empathy, and shared purpose. In today’s fast-paced workplace, influence is often confused with authority, but true leadership happens when others want to follow your lead, not when they have to.

The purpose of this workshop is to explore the deeper application of Dale Carnegie’s Principles 10–21: why they matter, what gets in the way of using them, and how to apply them to influence outcomes positively and authentically. Through reflection, discussion, and practical examples, participants will learn how to build cooperation, guide performance, and strengthen trust even in challenging situations.

During this session, we will cover:

  • Understand the challenges and mindset shifts required to apply Principles 10–21 effectively
  • Explore strategies for gaining genuine cooperation and inspiring initiative
  • Hear real-world examples of how influence and encouragement drive results
  • Learn from a panel of Dale Carnegie trainers as they share how these principles have shaped their leadership and impact
