LCWM Holiday Hike Challenge Group Hike: Saul Lake Bog

LCWM Holiday Hike Challenge Group Hike: Saul Lake Bog

By Lea Sevigny

Overview

FREE group hike w/ the Land Conservancy of WM & Joyful Wildcrafting. Learn winter plant & tree ID, & Foraging for food, medicine, & art.

This holiday season, busy elves from the Land Conservancy of West Michigan have hung a big red bow on one tree at a number of the nature preserves. If you find them, you have the chance to win some cool prizes!

Let Lea Sevigny be your guide as you embrace nature at two of these 17 special locations. This year there are two official group hikes: 11/29 at Wege Foundation Natural Area and 12/6 at Saul Lake Bog. Both hikes begin at 10:00.

All ages are welcome on these FREE, group hikes. At each event, we will discover the preserve together, looking for the “Bow Tree” and noticing special plants along the way. Lea will share plant identification, as well as, uses for food, herbal remedies, and creative connections. She’ll also talk about tips for winter tree ID. Participants will leave with their picture at the “Bow Tree,” to enter the Challenge, and with inspiration to connect with nature in new ways.

We encourage reservations, but walk-ups are welcome.

Lea is only leading 2 hikes this year, so don’t miss out!
