We got so much nice feedback after our first mini bookcases workshop (and we had so much fun ourselves), we decided to do it again! If you missed our first LCW Book Club meeting, join us for this one. And if you already created a bookcase and loved it, you're welcome to come back (and bring a friend!) — we'll have some new embellishments, including holiday-themed trinkets! Nestle your bookcase in your tree, or place it on a shelf for some bookish holiday decor. (Holiday theme is 100 percent optional; we'll have plenty of choices for decorating your shelf.)
This isn’t your typical book club where everyone reads the same book and talks about it. And actually, it’s not even really a club at all because you don’t have to worry if you miss a “meeting.” It’s just a chance to get together for some casual book chat; activities like book swaps or reading recommendations; and most importantly — a book-themed craft project!
You can design your tiny shelves to showcase some favorite reads or just create your dream reading nook, full of things that bring you joy. Or give your shelves a Christmas, Hanukkah or winter theme for a festive touch.
This workshop includes:
- A 5-by-5-inch bookcase ready for you to customize and embellish.
- Lots of tiny books! We’ll have some mini versions of actual books — contemporary and classic — and some with plain or patterned decorative covers.
- Miniature decorative items like coffee mugs and picture frames.
- Christmas-, Hanukkah and winter-themed trinkets like tiny string lights, mini trees, wreaths, menorahs and more!
- A buffet of supplies so you can embellish your shelves; create items like potted plants or flowers in vases; or whatever else you can dream up to make your perfect space.
- Plus, you’re welcome to bring any tiny trinkets or photos to add your own touches.
We’ll also have some book-related conversation starters while you’re crafting, and a few snacks to fuel our evening. Here’s to the first of what we hope are many bookish, crafty meet-ups!
