Join us for our 2025 League Cycling Instructor seminar! This seminar will be led by angela olson, League Cycling Coach and BikeMN's Deputy Director, with assistance from Jan Matheus, League Cycling Coach.

Pre-req class: The Smart Cycling pre-requisite for the seminar can be taken in the months before the LCI Seminar if not already completed. Check out BikeMN's events page for upcoming Smart Cycling classes, or reach out to a League Certified Instructor near you. If those dates do not work for you, please email angela@bikemn.org . You must complete Smart Cycling before attending the LCI seminar.

Schedule:Friday 10/24: 5:30-9pm, Saturday 10/25: 8am-6pm (lunch provided), Sunday 10/26: 8am-2pm

About the coach: angela olson (who prefers a lowercase styling of her name) joins the League as an Organizational Coach, a special category of Coach representing one of our state and local partners. Organizational Coaches are experienced LCIs, typically chosen from a bike advocacy organization’s staff to be the face of their cycling education efforts.

angela has been an educator for over 20 years, teaching at various nonprofits in Minneapolis, New York, and Chicago. When working as a mechanic or service writer, she most loved teaching folks new things about their bicycle—ways to maintain their machine, solve problems, and get around by their own power. She's worked with brand new riders and experienced racers alike, and feels passionately that everybody deserves to get around safely and confidently. Today, angela serves as the Deputy Director at the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota, where she supports our educational and advocacy efforts statewide.

BikeMN's classroom space is located in BikeMN's basement, down a flight of 15 stairs. Gender neutral bathrooms are available on both the main (accessible bathroom) and basement levels. During the seminar, we will provide snacks for all diets, as well as lunch ordered in on Saturday from The Howe Minneapolis. Our office has a small kitchenette and fridge. Transit information at the bottom of this post.

Bike Parking:

4 spaces available inside, 12 spaces available on Minnehaha ave racks in front; bikes can be brought inside upon request.

Car Parking On-street:

Time-limited (1-2hrs depending) car parking is available on the 3700 block of Minnehaha Ave.

On-street, unrestricted car parking is available behind the office on 34th Ave. or on the 3800 block of Minnehaha
