About this event

Come join us for an evening of personal doc, essay and diary films curated by the LBCMA Film Club. We are also kicking off a new collaborative film project called “A Living Archive: Multi-Generational Stories from Long Beach” so we’ll be using this evening to introduce you to the filmmakers that will be taking part in the project, so come say hi! See you there!

Diary and essay films are non-narrative film formats that explore a filmmaker's own experiences and reflections, and often blur the lines between non-fiction and fiction. However, diary films are often more focused on personal observation and recording of daily life, while essay films may incorporate wider perspectives, reflection, and commentary on broader themes”
