About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Being laid off doesn’t just impact your financial and professional wellbeing—it disrupts your sense of time, purpose, and momentum. If your days feel unstructured, your motivation is scattered, or you’re struggling to feel productive or confident again, this session is for you.

This FREE, research-backed workshop will help you rebuild a rhythm that works for you—grounded in self-leadership, gentle structure, and renewed identity.

During this 60-minute session, you’ll:

  • Reflect on what’s been lost—and what you want to carry forward
  • Create a personalized plan to restore healthy rhythms
  • Complete a confidence-boosting exercise to reconnect with your strengths
  • Identify new habits and areas to focus on.

Whether you’re applying to jobs or simply trying to get out of bed, this session will help you reconnect to your flow and your value.

This session is for you if you’re:

  • Struggling with daily structure or low motivation
  • Missing the routine and social energy of your past job
  • Ready to build momentum again on your own terms

Led by: Skye King, Founder of Geode Lifeworks, behavior scientist, certified mindfulness instructor, and burnout recovery coach who knows firsthand what it’s like to navigate layoffs and rebuild from the ground up.

Free to attend. Cameras optional. Come as you are.

Who is this workshop for?

Anyone who has been laid off, furloughed, or impacted by job loss whether it happened last week or months ago. You’re welcome here.

What if I was laid off weeks or months ago? Can I still attend?

Absolutely! Some people join us days after a layoff. Others come months later when the dust has settled, but the uncertainty (and emotions) remain.

What can I expect during the session?

This 60-minute lab includes exercises, reflection prompts, tools, and other resources to help you rebuild structure, confidence, and daily habit that help you feel grounded and motivated again.

Do I have to share anything personal?

Nope. Sharing is always optional. You’re welcome to listen, reflect, and participate in the way that feels right for you.

Can I invite a friend?

We encourage it! If you know someone who was laid off and could use some support, feel free to share this invitation with them. Everyone deserves support through this kind of transition.

Do I have to attend the full 4-part series?

No. Each Lab stands on its own, so you can attend just one or join the full journey. You’ll get something valuable out of every session, and we’ll provide resources and reflections for you to keep exploring on your own.

Will there be a recording?

We typically do not record these sessions to protect participants’ privacy and create a safer, more open space for reflection and discussion. Some non-personal resources or slides may be shared afterward. You can also access these resources on the Layoff Resilience Lab section of our website.

Is this really free?

Yes. This session (and the whole Layoff Resilience Lab series) is free to attend. You’ll also get access to worksheets and optional resources afterward. We offer these because we’ve been there too, and we believe in making meaningful support accessible when people need it most. If the Lab series fee
