This course will be led by Gwen Mason, Metro District-District Lay Servant Ministry Director, and held at St. John's Downtown, 2019 Crawford St, where you'll meet fellow participants and dive into the fundamentals of lay servant ministry.

Course Info:

The Lay Servant Ministries Basic Course is a foundational course designed to equip new church leaders and renew current leaders in The United Methodist Church. It explores personal spiritual gifts, servant leadership, the core ministries, each leader's role in developing future leaders, and much more.

Why Become a Lay Servant?

Lay Servants have a wide range of functions both in the church and in the community. The three primary focus areas are Leading, Caring and Communicating. Certified Lay Servants can lead Bible study or small groups, lead mission endeavors within the community and lead in various areas of ministry. Lay servants inspire a deeper commitment to Christ and more effective discipleship. This is the gateway course to those that want to be Certified Lay Servants, Lay Speakers and Lay Ministers.
