Laurel Canyon Collective

The artists of Laurel Canyon were a loosely connected musical movement and community that flourished in the hills of Los Angeles during the late 1960s and early 1970s. This informal “collective” was home to some of the most influential singer-songwriters and rock musicians of the era, whose collaborations and friendships helped define the sound of a generation.

Centered in the rustic, bohemian enclave of Laurel Canyon, the collective included groundbreaking artists such as Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, Crosby, Stills & Nash, James Taylor, Carole King, Linda Ronstadt, and Neil Young—each of whom brought a distinctive voice and style. They were joined by the likes of The Eagles, Bonnie Raitt, J.D. Souther, Harry Nilsson, Poco, The Doors, and The Mamas and the Papas, creating a vibrant, genre-blurring scene where folk, rock, pop, and country fused into what would become the Southern California sound.

Far more than just neighbors, these artists often played on each other's records, shared stages and studios, and helped shape the deeply personal, harmony-rich music that became a hallmark of the era. The Laurel Canyon scene was a rare convergence of artistic freedom, cultural revolution, and musical innovation—an enduring legacy that continues to influence songwriters and bands to this day.

Laurel Canyon Collective is more than just a band—we are a modern revival of a timeless spirit. Inspired by the free-flowing creativity and camaraderie of the original Laurel Canyon movement of the late '60s and early '70s, we channel that same energy of collaboration, storytelling, and genre-blending sound. Like the legendary artists who once gathered in the hills of Los Angeles—Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and so many more—we are a collective of musicians dedicated to creating honest, harmony-rich music rooted in folk, rock, country, and soul.

We're not here to copy the past—we're here to carry its torch forward. Our presentation of this vast catalog of music is born from friendship, late night jam sessions, countless rehearsals, and a shared love for authentic artistic expression. In every melody and lyric, we aim to honor the Laurel Canyon ethos: raw emotion, lush harmonies, and the power of music to bring people together.

We thank you for joining our journey!
