Launch Party: Pittsburgh’s AI Map of Civic Learning Opportunities
Overview
For the past year, young people across Pittsburgh have been researching, dreaming, designing, and testing a new way to navigate the city. Young people have helped design the tools our city can use to support them.
Now, we’re launching it together.
During this celebration, we’ll:
- Meet the teen creators, testers, and storytellers
- Experience the AI-powered map tool live
- Hear how young people shaped the design—from idea to prototype to launch
- Explore Pittsburgh’s youth-serving organizations and programs
- Share ideas for future features, partnerships, and youth-led improvements
- Connect with educators, civic partners, community organizations, and peers
- Enjoy youth-led storytelling, snacks, music, and celebration
Together, we’ll celebrate what’s been built, what’s possible, and the future of youth-powered innovation in Pittsburgh.
Why It Matters
Young people shouldn’t have to luck into opportunity. They should be able to see it, shape it, and share it.
This AI-supported map is:
- Built with and for teens
- Rooted in youth voice, belonging, and agency
- Designed to surface real opportunities across neighborhoods
- A tool to strengthen connections between youth, schools, and community partners
- A foundation to deepen civic imagination across the region
This launch marks a new chapter in Pittsburgh’s commitment to being a place where young people feel seen, supported, and able to thrive.
