Launch of the All-Ireland Peatlands Centre of Excellence (APEX)
Overview
The interdisciplinary RePEAT project, a collaborative effort between scholars from Trinity College Dublin and the University of Galway, is set to host a week-long research display and public lecture focused on the history, ecology, and future restoration of Ireland’s peatlands.
The display will showcase the project’s findings, and will take place in the Atrium in the Orbsen building. The display is scheduled to run for five days, beginning on Monday, December 15th, and concluding on Friday, December 19th.
In addition, a public lecture will be held on Thursday, December 18th, from 17:00 to 20:00. The lecture will be hosted in the Michael D Higgins Auditorium. This event will also include the formal launch of the Peatland Centre of Excellence (APEX), a hub for national and international research, knowledge exchange, and innovation.
