By Maui Farmer Support Network

Overview

Come join MFSN at the Kula Elementary School Garden to join in the restoration of this living learning space for our upcountry keiki.

Volunteers can look forward to a meaningful, hands-on experience of restoring Kula Elementary’s outdoor learning garden. This Laulima Day will bring together parents, community members, farmers, and friends to help revive a space that has long served as a living classroom for Kula’s keiki. During the three hours, volunteers can expect to Work side-by-side with fellow community members on projects such as cleaning up Banana Patches, Removal of Large Green Waste Piles, Load Into Trailer, Fence Repair, Shrub Pruning, Assembling New Trellis Systems, and Clearing Overgrowth of glycine from the fences.

Engage in light-to-moderate physical activity, with tasks available for all comfort levels and abilities, Enjoy a spirit of laulima—many hands working together making a positive impact.

Please bring: Water, snacks, gloves, and any basic garden tools you prefer to work with (hand pruners, rakes, shovels, cordless drill, etc.). A hat, sun protection, and closed-toe shoes are highly recommended.
