About this event

Overview

What are best practices for maintaining healthy landscapes in Florida? Is everything you read online about landscaping true? How do you calibrate a backpack sprayer? How do you keep palms healthy? This six-week webinar series will cover the answers to these questions and more! Continuing education units (CEUs) are also available for individuals that hold a pesticide applicator license.

The cost for attendance is $10 per class. You can register for just one or for multiple classes. You can also register to attend all 6 classes for a discounted rate of $35.

Registration will close at 4PM the day before each class. Zoom links will be sent out the day before each class. If you are attending multiple webinars in the series, you will receive a unique zoom link prior to each session.

  • Jan 14, 2:00-3:00PM – Managing Landscape Pests and Diseases with Backpack Sprayers
  • Jan 21, 2:00-3:00PM – Sustainable Water Practices for Florida Landscapes
  • Jan 28, 2:00-3:00PM – Pain in my Grass: Common Turf Pests
  • Feb 4, 2:00-3:00PM – Useful Plants, Practical Management: ID and Care for Florida's Edible Landscapes
  • Feb 11, 2:00-3: 00PM – Landscape Myth Busters
  • Feb 18, 2:00-3:00PM – Palm Care Basics for Florida Landscapes

CEUs

If you hold an FDACS pesticide applicator license, you can attend these classes to receive CEUs. Each class is worth 1 CEU in any one of the following categories:

  • Commercial (PCO) Lawn and Ornamental
  • Limited Certification Commercial Landscape Management (LCLM)
  • Limited Certification Lawn and Ornamental (LLO)
  • Ornamental and Turf (OT)
  • Right-of-Ways (ROW)
  • Private Applicator Ag
  • *Limited Urban Fertilizer (Only Available on 1/21, 2/11, and 2/18)

This class will be held online via Zoom. Please be prepared to arrive at least 15 minutes early to the class. An individualized Zoom link will be sent 1 day prior to each class. To receive CEU credit, you must attend the full duration of the class and participate. For CEU credit, each person needs to attend using their own electronic device. Attendance will be verified.
