Ready to get hands-on with tiling? Whether you're dreaming of a backsplash, bathroom upgrade, or just curious about working with tile, this one-day class will give you the skills to lay it down right.
We’ll cover the full tiling process, from planning to finishing, and each participant will complete a small tile hot pad
In this class, you’ll learn:
- Common tile types and how to handle them
- Cutting, drilling, and shaping techniques
- Proper backing materials and waterproofing methods
- Mortar types and how to apply them
- Patterns, spacing, and layout strategies
- Grouting, sealing, and finishing techniques
All materials provided. No prior experience needed.
What to bring:
- Lunch, drink and snacks — we’ll break mid-day.
- Closed toe shoes and clothes that can get messy — mortar and grout are wet, sticky, and will dry into a crusty, cement-like substance that’s tough to remove.
- Skin protection — disposable gloves will be provided, as tiling materials are highly alkaline and can irritate skin with prolonged contact. But feel free to bring your own non-porous set.
- Tile or Grout - We will provide tile and grout that you can use, but if you want a specific color or style you should bring your own.
