The University City Summer Series presented by University City District and World Cafe Live is bringing a FREE concert by house music mainstay Lady Alma and Vertical Current at The Lawn at uCity Square (37th and Cuthbert) on Thursday, July 10th! The Philly songstress has made a worldwide name for herself with her eclectic and uplifting musical repertoire. Lady Alma is known for a range of uniquely inspirational jams, and her fans recognize not only the magic of her skillful vocal arches, but also her amazing songs and motivating messages. We welcome Lady Alma to the Lawn in 2024 and are very excited to bring her back!

poetik selektions will kick things off with a DJ set at 5 PM, and Lady Alma and Vertical Current will take the stage at 6:30! Our thanks to uCity Square for being our host and partner for Lady Alma!

The uCity Square Beer Garden will be open during the concert for pay-as-you-go drinks from Two Locals Brewing Company. Be sure to check them out!

About the Lawn: The Lawn at uCity Square is a playful pop-up space where the neighborhood can find shade, feel the grass beneath their feet, and enjoy events like live music, movies, fitness classes, crafts, and more. About Two Locals: Richard and Mengistu Koiler made history when they opened Two Locals Brewing Company, the first Black-owned brewery in Philadelphia, in January of 2024 at 3675 Market Street within uCity Square. Two Locals serves a growing selection of house-brewed beers and food provided by Liberty Kitchen. See the video we produced about their journey from brewing at home to opening up their flagship store in University City.
