ABSTRACT:

Making a positive difference in the workplace is the name of the OBM Game. This presentation will provide tools and techniques to use upon your return to work. Participants will learn strategies from OBM literature and practice applicable to day-to-day management.  In addition, the presentation will facilitation and opportunity for each participant to identify an area of opportunity to apply the tools they learned, walking away with the making of an OBM project to make a positive difference back at work.

  1. Identify 3 key OBM strategies to improve leadership and workplace performance.
  2. Learn how to diagnose and solve performance challenges using behavior-based tools.
  3. Apply reinforcement and feedback techniques to enhance motivation and results.
  4. Define 1 opportunity to improve performance in your workplace and apply the strategies

ABOUT Manuel Rodriguez, DBA, BCBA, IBA

Throughout his career, Dr Manuel "Manny" Rodriguez has sought new challenges and opportunities allowing him to grow professionally. His expectations of himself are higher, when he seeks to lead organizations to be world-class. Over the course of his career, he has worked to achieve excellence both academically and professionally. Dr Manny has served as an external consultant for the largest behaviorally based consultancy, CLG (now Alula), as an internal change agent for FMC Corporation’s Corporate Safety team, as CEO of Bueno Ventures Management Services, a venture capital investment and management consulting firm, and as CEO of OBM Enterprises, his own private consultancy. Dr. Manny is the Executive Director of Strategic Growth for Puzzle Box Academy and Kaleidoscope Interventions in Brevard County Florida, helping to grow and scale using behavioral science techniques to make positive differences in the world. Across his career, Manny has had the great opportunity to launch management consultancies earning more than a million dollars in revenue within the first year, implement various strategic imperatives for Fortune 500 companies, and regularly presents at national and international professional and private conferences. Dr Manny was a co-author of the four-volume book, OBM Applied! A Practical Guide to Implementing Organizational Behavior Management and the book Quick Wins! Accelerating School Transformation through Science, Engagement, and Leadership (1st edition). Since then Dr. Manny has sole authored Organizational Behavior Management (2nd edition) and Seven Synergies. Dr Manny continues to write articles, publish video content, is a co host of Pam and The Purple Couch Podcast, and is looking forward to instructing the OBM Practitioner course for RushD based in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Manny’s solo authored book, Organizational Behavior Management (2nd edition), was just published in Arabic, the first OBM book to be translated in Arabic. Manny had the great honor of serving as President and Executive Director of the OBM Network, a professional membership organization. In addition, Manny has helped launched successful startups and is dedicated to the growth of OBM practitioners.

ABOUT LABA:

LABA is an organization dedicated to improving cultural, social and ethnic diversity in the field of applied behavior analysis as well as addressing the particular needs of diverse individuals and diverse communities. LABA was formed by three Latino behavior analysts, Ruth Tello-Di Leva, Isaac Bermudez and Jose D Rios, who, combined have worked in the field of behavior analysis for nearly 90 years.

LABA was the first behavior analytic organization formed specifically to address diversity (and the absence of diversity) in our field. LABA focuses on disseminating evidenced-based practices and providing support, resources, training opportunities, communication and networking opportunities to practitioners and students with the purpose of increasing the visibility, participation and collaboration of Latinos and other underrepresented groups in the leadership of behavior analytic organizations, educational institutions and behavior analytic agencies.
