I don't have a chart, can I still show up and sing?

Yes, if the band knows the song very well or we can find a chart in our in home folders or music apps.

I have the lyrics and the chords above, does it count as a chart?

Accepted Answer

No, the band needs to sight read and needs a lead sheet, unless the know the song very well already.

Do I have to enroll ahead of time?

No, you can just show up, find Martine, The Singers' School MC and organizer. She will guide you and show you to the stand where you'll put your name on the list as early as 7:30 pm.

I've done karaoké, but never sang with a band, is that ok?

Absolutely! The only difference is the joy of co creating and sharing with the band and audience.

Can I accompany myself on the piano or the guitar ?

Accepted Answer

Yes, providing the band is still playing.

Can I perform my onwn songs?

Yes, providing you can lead the band either orally or you have charts.

I would love to sing on stage with musicians, but am super scared, what can I do?

You can start by show up and say hi, have a feel of the evening. Then you can take a couple of  lessons with Martine and The Singers' School to prep, or you can enroll in the Pre Jam Prep workshop that takes place 2 days prior the Singers' Jam.
