Written in 1982, about the Rosas era of 1840, it addresses current issues such as abuse of power, intolerance, discrimination, violence, and disrespect. Benigno, an authoritarian and aristocratic father, educates his daughter, Dolores, who receives Rafael, her new teacher. The family also includes his submissive wife and Fermín, a fierce servant. Benigno plans to marry Dolores to Juan Pedro, but she, in love with Rafael, decides to run away, causing a tragedy where breaking orders means death.
