Creating Mkeka Mats by Needlepoint 

In the celebration of Kwanzaa, the Mkeka mat is a symbol of our tradition and history and a foundation to grow and build. Join creative, Ranee Harris, as she facilitates a workshop on using needlepoint to craft a Mkeka mats. Using stencils and following basic patterns, participants will first draw their patterns on the mat and then using various stitches will began to create their mat using selected yarn colors to weave the yarn through the mat.
