Kubo and the Two Strings (2016) Movie Screening: Presented by LSA
Overview
Locust Street Art's Animation Team presents... KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS (2016)
Join us on March 20th for a special screening of Laika's Kubo and the Two Strings (2016). Our animation team will introduce the film and share about the historical significance of the movie. Guests are welcome to stay after the film for a discussion on themes, animation styles, artistic choices, and more!
This movie screening is Pay What You Can. Popcorn and Hot Chocolate will be available to purchase before the screening!
A note from Roger Scott, seasoned Animator and Animation Instructor at LSA:
"Its significance is technical as well as artistic. Kubo featured one of the largest stop-motion puppets ever built—the towering Skeleton, standing over 16 feet tall—pushing the physical limits of the medium. The achievement reaffirmed stop-motion as a living, evolving art form capable of spectacle on a grand scale without sacrificing the tactile soul that defines it."
Accessibility
Locust Street Art is located in a historic building with eight steps to access our main entrance. A side entrance is available for students with limited mobility—this entrance has four steps to access our main hallway. We are currently fundraising to make our building more accessible. Please contact us if you have concerns related to accessibility so we can try to make accommodations. Limited free parking is available on the street.
All screening proceeds go to support our community art classes!
