In this session, participants will learn essential techniques passed down through generations, including:
- Creating a net piko (center point): the heart of every kōkō pūʻalu.
- Mastering the knot: how to properly tie and secure each knot so it holds firm and doesn’t slip.
Guided by Umi Kai’s deep cultural knowledge and years of experience, this workshop offers more than technical skill — it’s a chance to connect with traditional Hawaiian practices of resourcefulness, respect, and craftsmanship.
