Overview

The Importance of Critical Thinking & ‘Safe’ Risk Taking: benefits of and strategies for problem solving, problem seeking and ‘knot knowing'

The California International Reggio Center (CIRC) is pleased to partner with experienced educator and parent coach Darcy Campbell. This is the second event in a series of four parent workshops.

Join us for Knot Knowing, Not Knowing and Knowing: The Importance of Critical Thinking and ‘Safe’ Risk Taking.

As educators who value critical thinking, creativity and connection, we know that getting the right answer is the most passive way of learning and rescuing a child from disequilibrium of not knowing can hinder their ability to think critically and make connections. And although memorization, fact finding, and formulas are part of every educational setting, no matter how progressive, they are not the tools that children need to think critically, creatively and know themselves as learners. This workshop will explore the benefits of and strategies for problem solving, problem seeking and ‘knot knowing’.
