Knit with Britt: A beginning knitting class

Knit with Britt: A beginning knitting class

By Norway House

Overview

Join Britt Ardakani, lifelong knitter with a relaxed teaching style will guide you through making a triangular scarf.

This class is for absolute beginners and people who haven't knitted for years and want a refresher. You will meet two times, Thursday, November 20 and Thursday, December 4. You will learn the following essential knitting skills:

  1. Cast on
  2. Cast off
  3. Increasing
  4. Decreasing
  5. Garter stitch
  6. I-cord finish
  7. Reading a simple pattern
  8. Knitting on circular needles

Britt will supply a skein of a soft wool yarn for each knitter in your choice of neutral colors. Your needles will also be supplied. Britt follows the advice of knitting designer and teacher Elizabeth Zimmerman and uses circulars so one does not drop a needle in one's drink. This is particularly relevant as Norway House will be hosting its Hygge Happy Hour with BOGO glass of beer or wine at the same time as class.

Please order the downloadable pattern from Petite Knit: https://www.petiteknit.com/en/collections/digitale-opskrifter/products/sophie-scarf?variant=39839447777335

We will be happy to print your pattern out for you if needed.
