King Tides - Low Tide Birding Hike

King Tides - Low Tide Birding Hike

By Elkhorn Slough Reserve

Overview

Join an expert birder as the King Tide goes out to watch the birds flock to the mudflats to feed! #tours

Join an expert birder as the King Tide goes out to watch the birds flock to the mudflats to feed! King Tides are the most extreme tides of the year, going from the highest of high tides to the lowest of low tides in a single day. As the tide goes out the foraging grounds appear, and so do the hungry birds – there’s never a better time to walk down to the waterline and see what shorebirds you can spot.

Join an Elkhorn Slough Reserve naturalist to see the birds for yourself! This event will last 2 hours, and the hike distance is approximately 1.25 miles round trip.
