About this event

Government • Non-partisan

This year, Kids Voting NC is excited to invite young people ages 11+ to join us for an engaging and informative experience. In addition, we warmly welcome members of the general public who will be 18+ by the upcoming election to participate as well.

During these workshops, we will provide a thorough explanation of the voting process, ensuring everyone understands how to make their voices heard. We will also take the time to explore all 4 positions that will be on the ballot this year

  1. Mecklenburg County Board of Education Districts
  2. Mayor
  3. Board of Commissioners
  4. City/Town Council

We will discuss the specific roles and responsibilities associated with each position. Furthermore, we will show what candidates are vying for these positions, giving attendees insight into who is running and what they stand for. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn and get involved in the democratic process! Learn more by visting our website.

Workshops will virtually and in person unless noted otherwise. In person workshops will be held from 5:30-7:30pm at the N.C. Cooperative Extension Office, Mecklenburg County Center. The dates are as follows:

Thursday, August 28th (changed to virtual only)

Wednesday, September 10th

Thursday, September 25th (virtual only)
