Join us for a fun and interactive class designed to introduce kids to the world of money and banking! In this beginner-friendly session, children will learn the basics of saving, spending, and how banks work. Through hands-on activities and real-life examples, kids will explore topics like:

  • What is money ?
  • What is a bank, and why do people use them?
  • The difference between saving and spending
  • How do you earn money?
  • How to set goals and make a simple budget
  • What is interest, and how does your money grow?

Taught by friendly financial educators from Consumers Credit Union, this class empowers kids (ages 7–12) to build smart money habits early and feel confident about managing their finances in the future.

Class is free but registration is required

The City of Muskegon Farmers Market and Kitchen 242,  located at 242 W Western in Muskegon MI, is the largest Farmers Market in West Michigan and is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from May thru November from 6am to 3pm and open on Saturdays from 9am - 2pm December through April. Kitchen 242 offers educational culinary classes and incubator opportunities.
