Kicking The Bucket Listening Club
JULY 2 - AUGUST 20 | 6-7:30PM 8-WEEK SERIES
EPISODE 3: To Thine Own Self Be True at Windsor Park Branch Austin Public Library
It's like a book club for your ears! Come and tune in together to listen to a dramedy fiction podcast and explore end-of-life decisions with humor and heart. Following the episode take part in a guided discussion with elder care experts & Kicking The Bucket creators.
Come to just one or two or all eight of our Listening Club series, each held at different branches of the Austin Public Library! Each episode can stand alone without needing to have attended each week.
Kicking The Bucket is a dark comedy fiction podcast (like an old-fashioned ‘radio play’) that offers a fresh take on elder care, aging, and end-of-life autonomy through stories that tickle the funny bone and tug at the heart. It is a bold, timely, and hilarious series that sparks conversations, challenges societal norms, and ultimately, redefines what it means to grow old on your own terms.
Join Dolores and Howard, our daring octogenarian duo with more spunk than spring chickens, as they plot their grand exit from life — on their own quirky terms. Alzheimer’s and cancer are their uninvited guests, but before their children can say "nursing home," Dolores and Howard are making a break for it, in ways that are as laughably imperfect as they are inspiring.
We'll be back again at Windsor Park branch 6:00-7:30pm for Episode 6! Check out the other Austin Public Library locations in the graphic below.
