Midtown Events brings you Kennebec & Brendan Eder Ensemble Wednesday, Nov. 19 at The Domino Room in Bend! Doors 7pm, Show 7:30pm, All Ages.

Kennebec – in support of their new LP The Water Wheel – and Brendan Eder Ensemble are heading up the misty West Coast. Both acts blur genre in favor of something more personal and elemental. Expect weightless textures, earthbound grooves, warm improvisations, and a transportive sonic experience.

Brendan Eder Ensemble blends woodwinds, drums, and electric bass into lush, hypnotic soundscapes. Their shows are immersive experiences—calm yet intense, spacious yet full of feeling.

Eder’s third album, THERAPY is a collection of meditative compositions recorded mostly at a church in Southern California. The independently-released album debuted at #6 on Billboard's Crossover Classical chart and was named one of The Guardian's "Best Albums of 2023 So Far."

On this West Coast tour, the ensemble will perform immersive new works alongside selections from THERAPY. Brendan will also be joining Kennebec on drums.

Kennebec blends jazz, ambient/electronic, folk, and hip-hop. The current quartet – led by composer/guitarist Eric Phillips – features violinist Gregory Allison, woodwindist John Savage, and Brendan Eder on drums.

The Water Wheel is a globally inspired work, with inspiration drawing from Yazz Ahmed’s Bahraini roots, Brazilian jazz guitar legends Luiz Bonfa, Toquinho and Arthur Verocai, and Japanese heroes Ryuichi Sakamoto and Toru Takemitsu. A distinctly American sound of cinematic chamber folk and gospel, Phillips’ creation is a densely packed medley of sonic and lived experiences.

Kennebec has shared the stage with artists as diverse as the grammy winning Arooj Aftab, Joep Beving, and Kevin Morby and collaborated with Sudan Archives, Samuel T. Herring, Alfa Mist, and Yazz Ahmed.
